Steven Tabbutt´s works depict celebrities as much as monsters or folkloristic figures. Subjects find themselves in chaotic acrylic or oil based worlds, in inc or photo montages. Curved and flat patterns collide with glaring colours and hardly allow a point where the observer´s gaze can rest. Perspectives of the digital era are as much represented in his works as the conventions of classic painting. Steven Tabbutt studied illustration and painting in Savannah, Georgia und New York City.
