Benjamin Courtault´s illustrations tell stories of discovery and travel: his figures embark on a journey of exploration discovering at times psychedelic and then again plane and two-dimensional worlds. Alongside his illustrations, Courtault´s printing techniques also always play an important role as part of his art work. For his self-publicised comics and magazines such as ´Blind Days´, ´La descente´ and ´Le lac le lapin et le pêcheur´, he uses a screen printing method also known as serigraphy.
In 2017 his first storybook ´Plötzlich Funkstille´, which was printed in five special colours, was released by the publishing house Kunstanstifter Verlag. His illustrations appear in newspapers and magazines and decorate his postcards and posters. Benjamin Courtault has a degree in visual communication and illustration from Berlin´s Universität der Künste and currently lives in Paris.
